Wednesday night at TRH

Back at TRH after Karachi, Dubai, Istanbul, Sofia, and Abu Dhabi. I'll be here a couple of weeks (except for a trip to Richmond) then off to San Juan and onto Dominica for a week of diving.

Wednesday Night at The Rock House

I hope we are on the downside of the Blizzard of February 2010 (as opposed to the Blizzard of December 2009, which was enough for anyone). For the February storm, from 2/5-10, there have been 30+ inches of snow, with lots of blowing wind. I know TRH lost two trees, and many limbs, from breakage with the weight of the snow.


I've paid, and cleared myself, the drive more times than anyone should for the whole year. This last time, I used the Range Rover to pack and crush the snow into the ground, rather than try and shovel, since there's no place to shovel to.

One more day here, hopefully in better weather, then Friday morning to Belize. I want to go, but am a bit worried now about the Big Thaw, and what else may yield to Mother Nature.




And the Shelties? They're still in WV, wading thru the same type snow as here at The Rock House.

Wednesday Morning at The Rock House

I'm home between trips: Just back from Bonaire, and off next week to Niagara on the Lake, then Belize. Also planning future dive trips to Dominica and Bonaire, later this year.

My browser is set for a live telecast of Apple's press conference today, likely to announce the Apple Tablet - something I've been waiting for for years. We'll see if it's something else I need!

Christmas Morning at The Rock House

Wow - Christmas already. Lots of traveling, and lots of snow on the ground here in Bethesda. I'm off this afternoon for Istanbul for a week.

Tuesday Morning at The Rock House - United 767 Planes

Just returned from Rome, Riyadh, and Jeddah. I flew from Dulles to Rome and back on United, on one of their new 767 jets. It was really nice! I upgraded to Business Class, where the seats recline into fully flat beds, there is on-demand video, power for your PC, and a USB plug to charge your mobile devices.

I actually flew to Rome in Economy Plus, and returned in B-Class. There's a real difference!! For me, well worth the system-wide upgrade certificate I had earned for being a 1K member. Even for a 30,000 mile award, it would be worth it!

Friday afternoon at The Rock House

Well, I guess this is my monthly blog entry. That seems to be the level of activity. I'm much more active on Twitter - there I update Twitter, Facebook and Plaxo with where I am, so that if I disappear somewhere in the world, someone would know where to start looking for me.

I am home now, then going to WV to see the Shelties. They've been there a couple of weeks, and looks like they wont come home until mid-November. I'm off Sunday to Rome and Riyadh and Jeddah. Maybe also to Dubai, but that's up in the air still. I hope also that I'll get to dive in the Red Sea off Jeddah. Right now, it looks like there will be time, and I'll be in the water there Nov 6-8. But, that could change.

After this trip, I'm home a week or so then I'm on the road again - Isn't that a Willie Nelson song??
